So American Pit Bull Terriers
have the highest
bite
pressure
of the canine world. NOPE.
Not according to the National Geographic
program.
When Dr. Brady Barr of National
Geographic (Dangerous Encounters: Bite Force,
8/18/2005) measured the bite forces of three dog
breeds (Rottweiler, German Shepherd Dog and
American Pit Bull Terrier) using a computerized
bite sleeve, the American Pit Bull Terrier
generated the least amount of pressure out of
the 3 dogs tested

Here are the top 6 animals of the world with the
highest
bite
pressure
according to the National Geographic Channel:
1. Crocodiles: 2489 lbs
2. Hyenas: 1123 lbs
3. Snapping Turtles: 1098 lbs
4. White sharks: 620 lbs
5. Lions: 611 lbs
6. Wolfs: 458 lbs
There is no scientific evidence
showing pit bulls to have a stronger bite than
other large dog breeds. Period
